What was the history of the people?

What homes did the cherokee live in?

What cloths did they were?

What tools did they use?

What do they eat?

The Cherokee were very interesting. They were some of the first people in America. They were the first to have a writing system

The Cherokee history is rich. They originally lived in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and other states (The Cherokee). But then the Europeans started to settle the land. The Cherokee people had to move to texas. The good thing was that Texas had really good farming soil. But then even more Settlers came. And the revolutionary war was over at this time. Then the Cherokee had to go on the Trail of Tears to Oklahoma, Where they started the cherokee nation. (the Cherokee).

The Cherokee of course had to have some place to live. At first they had mud homes, Which basically had Earthen walls and, when it was fall and winter, had a roof made of thatch. The houses were very small, so there would be about thirty houses living in each home (The Cherokee). But in the 1800s, the Cherokee indians started living in the log cabins which most people are familiar with. These log cabins were much bigger, they would even fit more than one generation in each cabin. So you would see a lot less homes (What homes did the Cherokee live in).

There were a variety of clothes worn. If you were a man, you would probably were breech cloths, and maybe a shirt if the Europeans were there at that point in time. If you were a woman you would have a skirt with a poncho like top, and maybe a dress or a blouse (The Cherokee). The Cherokee did have great cloaks and capes, the cloaks were made of deerskin, and the capes were only worn on a special occasion. The Cherokee had excellent and beautiful jewelry, made of a variety of stones. The moccasins would be made of deerskin (The Cherokee).

The Cherokee used a variety of tools. The main one was the scrapers that were used for tanning hides, scrapers were just a piece of flint (The Cherokee). They sometimes would use blowguns for hunting or warfare, the darts were poisoned. They had a lot of weapons. There were tomahawks which were basically a hatchet that you would throw. The weapons were made from pieces of rock (Cherokee Weapons.

There were five main foods that they ate. The foods are squash, corn, beans, elk, and deer. Squash, corn, and beans were made into soup, made into bread, or put in stews (The Cherokee). Elk was either eaten on its own or put into stew. Bear was also eaten on its own or put into stew (The Cherokee).

They ate delicious food, had nice fashion, used many tools, had nice architecture, and have a unique past.
